Kami kanji
God
This kanji means 'god', pronounce 'kami' or 'shin'.This kanji constitute by 2 parts. Left part means table for sacrifice, and right part means thunder. Thunder is power of god.
Today this kanji is used for all kind of god, but originally for gods of 'shinto'. Shinto is Japanese native religion. Shinto have 8,000,000 gods called 'Yaorozu-no-kami', because ancient Japanese thought everything have their own god, cups have god of cup, weeds have god of weed, entry halls have god of entry hall, maybe present-day Japanese people say PC have god of PC. Of course microsoft have their own god, Bill Gates.
